Some of you already know, but I really enjoy cooking! For me, a typical weekend is biking, swimming, or hiking, followed by a dip in the hot springs and then cooking a nice dinner at home. Recently, I have tried cooking new and exciting recipes. My most recent and delicious recipe was a red-wine pasta. The addition of walnuts brought a nice nutty balance to the wine and parsley flavors.
I also love Japanese food and often cook it for lunch and dinner. I have a Harumi Kurihara cookbook, and I have cooked almost every recipe in the book! If anyone has recommendations on delicious recipes, not just Japanese food but any cuisine, please let me know! While more adventures will continue soon, for now, the BES Adventurer will enjoy eating the night away! Anyone up for some cooking?
Food in order: Clams Steamed in Sake / Chicken-Katsu / Fried Rice / Crab Cheese Wontons (Chinese-American appetizer) / Katsudon / Eggplant & Tofu in a Chili Sauce / Tonjiru with Sesame Broccoli / Red-Wine Pasta with Walnuts / Yangnyeom Chicken (Korean fried chicken in a spicy sauce) / Scotch Eggs with Pickled Red Onions and Carrots / Tempura Plate (is that fig tempura? 🙂 ) / Dates with Bleu Cheese wrapped in Bacon with Meat and Cheese / Ginger Pork with Bok-Choy
I hope you enjoyed following the BES Adventurer eating our way around the world. Please check out my other posts or come back soon to see where the journey (or recipe) takes me next!
