My grandparents always told me, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away!” While I don’t eat one every day, I enjoy a delicious apple, and now it is harvesting season. This past weekend, I went to the Iwamisannai area and enjoyed picking Fuji apples and cooking lunch with apples as the main ingredient. We made apple-pumpkin salad, apple-pork gnocchi, and gyoza with a kind of apple pie filling. Everything was delicious, and it was a lot of fun making gnocchi from scratch. I like autumn food and look forward to eating Kiritanpo! With chilly temperatures setting in, I want to pour a glass of wine and curl up next to a warm fire. But the BES Adventurer must continue in search of more exciting and beautiful places in Akita!
