My day started bright and early last Monday. I woke up and headed to the Taihei area to do volunteer farming. I helped the farmer plant eggplant and leek. While it was an extremely hot day, It was a great experience for me. One day, I hope to have a small farm of my own. Wouldn’t it be great to grow your own leek for yakitori?
After farming, I biked further into the mountainside, eventually reaching Kawabe, which runs along the Omata river. There are several scenic spots in the area, Tonofuchi, Funoshi waterfall, and Funesaku, to name a few. The river and the surrounding forest are breathtaking. It felt great to jump in the river and cool off from the hot sun. Truly some beautiful nature in Akita not too far from the city. But now that summer has arrived, the BES Adventurer must continue the journey around Akita!
