With beautiful weather this past weekend, I decided to visit a nature spot called Nekobari Rock, which my friend recommended to me. What a spiritual place! There is a true sense of wonder and energy that resonates from the rock. The accompanying sound of the river only completes the tranquility of the area.
Nearby are a couple of old thatched-roof houses, along with a farmer’s restaurant. With sansai, or mountain vegetables, in season, the menu had a variety of options available. I had sansai inaniwa udon with sansai tempura. It was delicious! After a relaxing time next to Nekobari and a full stomach, it is time for the BES Adventurer to go see what other amazing places Akita has to offer!
