It feels like you’ve entered a fairy tale when you stumble upon an unexpectedly beautiful place. With perfect weather on Tuesday, I ventured back to Taihei and discovered Kanayama Falls. What a gorgeous area with an interesting small shrine nestled in the side of the mountain along the river. There is also a hiking trail that starts at the waterfall, which I will surely go back to hike this summer. After basking in the sun and enjoying my Lawson’s rice ball, I realized the day was slipping away and decided to head back home. But don’t worry! The BES Adventurer will continue the journey around beautiful Akita!
